DescriptionWhat is The Libertarian Party?

The Libertarian Party is your representative in American politics.
It is the only political organization which respects you as a unique and competent individual.

America's Heritage

Libertarians believe in the American heritage of liberty, enterprise, and personal responsibility.
Libertarians recognize the responsibility we all share to preserve this precious heritage for our children and grandchildren.

Free and Independent

Libertarians believe that being free and independent is a great way to live.
We want a system which encourages all people to choose what they want from life;
that lets them live, love, work, play, and dream their own way.

Caring For People

The Libertarian way is a caring, people-centered approach to politics.
We believe each individual is unique.
We want a system which respects the individual and encourages us to discover the best within ourselves and develop our full potential.

Principled; Consistent

The Libertarian way is a logically consistent approach to politics based on the moral principle of self-ownership.
Each individual has the right to control his or her own body, action, speech, and property.
Government's only role is to help individuals defend themselves from force and fraud.

Tolerant

The Libertarian Party is for all who don't want to push other people around and don't want to be pushed around themselves.
Live and let live is the Libertarian way.

Thanks for your interest in party logo colors. I think the US parties probably should keep the colors they have on here right now. But parties in other nations with either no color picked (or the obvious wrong color picked) could be changed.

Yeah, there's also another functional thing where there are a bunch of "default" colors that the system picks for second instances of the same party in a race and if the party colors that are close to those actually match them it doesn't pick colors that are too similar.

Those colors are:

#AA00BB

#006666

#663300

#FF6699

#00AAFF

#AA00BB

#FF3300

#663300

#333333

#FF6699

#FFBB99

#FFFF00

#009900

#FF0000

#0000FF

If your part color is similar, but not identical to one of these it is not recommended for use.

I want to expand that list sometime soon too.

Okay here is a serious question based on absolute ignorance. What is the official Libertarian position on defunding the police?

That's complicated as especially since the Mises Caucus takeover, this issue is one of those that has debates within the movement itself.

But their positions range from: that is the one area where Gov Funding is OK to Government should not be involved with the funding and that should instead be left to private companies to fund their own police forces
