No, it'll be a decent portion and maybe a surprising congressperson or two (MTG), but most GOP voices will try to call this a "Democrat debt bill."

BrentinCO:
Without acknowledging there could be other solutions, without acknowledging others feelings, without acknowledging there are other stakeholders in the outcomes of your proposed solutions.

Just curious, what are some of your proposed solutions?

Lol, there's a non-zero chance, I saw the quote of someone saying a high probability, but Newsom wouldn't appoint someone already running...certainly not Lee. It's not like she's the only Black woman in Cali.

I saw the one with him at 14% and Marianne at 5%. I don't know that I trust these polls yet. I don't see him getting 21% in any primary, but 1/5 people believing or supporting things he says sounds about right to me.

RP: Do people really support this idiot?

Do you even have to ask anymore? Of course there are people who support him, fewer than news coverage might suggest but more than sane people would like.

BrentinCO: Feels like if the GOP had a 20 seat majority and not a fragile 10 seat majority, he wouldn't still be in Congress.

I think you have more faith in the House GOP than I do.

I live in Seattle and had a friend affected by the Amazon layoffs. He got notice, tech companies give decent severance, and he was looking for about 2 months before his last day. He ended up only being out of work for a week. There have been thousands of cuts in tech and slower hiring, but those folk are always in demand somewhere whether it’s a big name or something smaller. It’s wild, my tech bro friends live in a whole different universe.

Strong numbers for Beshear. Still have a tough time seeing more than a 2 point race against Cameron.

Typo on my part, but yeah. I agree if law broken, accountability. But RP summed up my point far more eloquently.

And were turned over once found without any claims of ownership, without ignoring requests and subpoenas for months, without a media campaign blaming everyone but those responsible, without attempts to move/hide them, without evidence of their regular review by persons who should no longer review them, and without some asinine explanation that a president can de-classify documents just by thinking it, but yes, they are classified.

Can't change rules until there's a Speaker. And changing to allow a speaker by plurality is a tacit vote for Kevin. In other words, it's a fantasy. He either gets the votes or he doesn't.

McCarthy is acting like a baby who isn't getting what he wants.

The guy with 200+ votes is the baby and the minority of 20 are what?

Sigh, I don't know why I'm feeding the troll.

Cute, but a quote from April obviously made about Putin. Ukraine’s made clear what they would want from any diplomatic efforts and Russia has illegally annexed Ukrainian territory. Unless progressives suddenly decided it’s okay for big, imperialist powers to impose their will on smaller ones, we’re going to have to admit it was a dumb letter and that only Ukraine gets to decide when it’s willing to talk to Russia. I mean, how is the U.S. Secretary of State supposed to negotiate on behalf of another country? We wouldn’t accept another state doing that for us.

Campari_007: Can we just call it now? I don't think anyone is going to be as ****ing terrible as Liz Truss is in 2 monts.

Don't jinx it, there's always room. Not much, but there always is.

I think governors have tended to resign then have their lieutenants appoint them to the vacated seat. Either way, found this interesting read while doing a google search:
