Voters elect two members of the City Council every four years. Two council members represent Ward 1, primarily the area on the west half of town. Two council members represent Ward 2, primarily located on the east side of town. One council member serves at large. The mayor is elected every two years.
City Council meetings are held the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at the St. James Community Building at 5:30pm. Meetings can be viewed live or anytime at the City of St. James's YouTube channel. City Council meetings can also be viewed on Public Access channels 7 or 8.
