Description | Following a change in the bylaws at the convention, the number of at-large representatives was reduced from 8 to 4 as part of a new system that matches the number of representatives to the amount of active party members. Previously held under a transferable vote system, bylaws required a new group of at-large representatives to be elected at the partial term convention if any had resigned during the first year of the term, effectively making it a one-year term given the likelihood of somebody stepping down.
In addition to the amendment changing the number, another amendment changed the bylaws to elect the positions by Approval Voting instead of a transferable vote. Despite the change, this election was still held to adhere to the outgoing bylaw and announced special election and a new group of representatives will begin a new two-year term in 2025. |
