Description |
State Senator Diane Allen is one of a handful of popular Republican State Senators from strongly Democratic districts (and she is perhaps the only of the breed who was elected after the 1991 GOP sweep).
Diane Allen has clear statewide ambitions after being recruited by the White House to run for US Senate in 2002, but to realize those dreams, she'll need to keep holding on in an unfriendly district.
In 2001, Allen beat a Navy Seal who was called into active duty during the campaign. This time around, she drew weak opposition after the Democrats failed to recruit a top-tier challenger.
