Data Sources | Votes given here are taken from the Number of Assessed Polls 1921, p. 11. All delegates ran officially unpledged, although all made their preferences known before the primary.
Coolidge's vote is that of Henry C. Lodge, the leader of the "Big Four" delegate slate. Wood's vote is that of Louis A. Frothingham, one of the three delegates unofficially pldged to Wood. Hoover's vote is that of Samuel W. McCall, who was unofficially pledged to him.
James W. Davis in his book Presidential Primaries credits the unpledged slate with 93,356 votes. |

No presidential preference primary was held. Instead, delegates ran individually. The "Big Four" slate, which was chosen, was unofficially pledged to Gov. Coolidge. Votes posted here are for the leading candidate for delegate for each presidential contender.
