Left-of-center party founded by former defense and transport minister Ousmane Issoufou Oubandawaki. Oubandawaki initially launched the Rally of Nigerien Patriots (Rassemblement des patriotes nigériens, RPN-Alkalami) on May 14, 2009, and won a seat in the National Assembly after elections held in October 2009. Oubandawaki then proceeded to form the "Independent Parliamentary Group" in late November 2009 together with eight other MPs, then joined his parliamentary group with his RPN to form the Alliance for Democratic Renewal. Party nominated its party president Laouan Magagi to run for president in 2016. Party was forcibly dissolved on March 26, 2025 [L'Alliance pour le renouveau démocratique (ARD, Adaltchi-Mutuntchi)].
