DescriptionLac La Biche-St. Paul is a narrow riding in northeast Alberta, stretching 200 kilometres from the agricultural area around Two Hills in the south to the wilderness around Crow Lake Provincial Park in the north. Before the 2004 redistribution, the northernmost reaches used to be in Athabasca-Wabasca; other additions include the Cold Lake Air Weapons Range and, to the south, parts of the old Vernon-Lloydminster riding, including Derwent, Myrnam and Beauvallon, and Vegreville-Viking riding, including Two Hills and Willingdon. The riding's other communities include St. Paul, Lac La Biche, Beaver Lake Reserve, Buffalo Lake Settlement, Craigend and Rich Lake.

Agriculture is by far the biggest employer here. The average household income, at $49,116, is among the lowest in Alberta. Thirteen per cent of residents are low income, and the riding has the province's third-highest rate of government transfer payments. Housing values, at an average of $96,152. Forty per cent of people don't have a high school diploma. The population here includes 12 per cent Ukrainians, 23 per cent aboriginal peoples, the third most in Alberta, and 1.4 per cent francophones, also the third most. Almost 82 per cent of residents were born in Alberta, while fewer than 5 per cent are immigrants.
