Description | The Parish Council meets twice a month. The first meeting of the month is a regular voting council meeting. The second meeting of the month is an executive committee meeting. Both meetings are open to the public. They begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Parish Council meeting room at 160 East Main St., New Roads. Visit our events calendar for a schedule of future meetings. POINTE COUPEE Parish created within Pointe Coupee County. The creation of parishes did not abolish the 12 counties established on 10 Apr 1805. Counties existed for taxing and electoral purposes, while parishes took over jurisdiction of judicial matters.
