Info | I have been a member of the Libertarian Party for somewhere around six years now, but have been active in Libertarian ideals for many years before that. I joined the party when I was 14 and one year later founded the Libertarian Party of Catoosa County and served as its Chairman for three years. During my time in Georgia I served on the Executive Committee as the Director of Affiliate Development for one year.
When the Campaign Finance Reform Act passed, it essentially made my activity in the Libertarian Party illegal. So what did I do? What any decent America would, I sued. I was a member of the McConnell law suit, and my case won. Even though I was past the barrier by the time it passed, I'm glad to know that new generations of "below 18" Libertarians will have their rights, atleast, a couple of them that are still left.
I moved back to Chattanooga, TN to attend college in July of 2003. I formally served as the Editor of the Voice of Freedom for the Libertarian Party of Tennessee, www.lptn.net, and now serve as Treasurer of that state party. I was also recently elected to a second term as Chairman of the Libertarian Party of Hamilton County, one of the LP's top affiliates (in my opinion), www.hclp.org. On the campus of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, www.utc.edu, we've resurrected the Campus Libertarians and for a short time I will be serving as their President.
At the Atlanta 2004 National Convention I was the Secretary of the Platform Committee and am proud of the work that committee has done, while acknowledging there is still far more to go. I also fell only 19 votes shy of an At-Large seat on the Libertarian National Committee. We also formed the National Libertarian Party Youth Caucus (www.nlpyc.org) and I was elected as the first Chairman of that group.
I am a member of the Anglican Communion and the Episcopal Church, USA. At my church I am a Chalice Bearer, Lector, Lay Minister and also serve as an Acolyte Master.
Other than that, I'm in a committed relationship with a wonderful young lady, and spend most of my free time... oh, wait... what's free time? :-)
