Info | Senator Win Smith, Jr., of Milford, was first elected to represent the 14th District in the Connecticut State Senate in 1992. He is the Ranking Member of the Banks Committee. He is also a member of the Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee, and serves as the Ranking Member of its subcommittee on Bonding. In addition, Senator Smith serves on the General Assembly’s Program Review and Investigations Committee and on the Senate Republican Bill Screening Committee. Senator Smith also serves as an Assistant Minority Leader.
Senator Smith is a member of the Milford Republican Town Committee. He is also a member of the Milford Rotary Club, and a former member of the organization’s board of directors. Senator Smith has also served as a member of the Milford Police Commission. He is a lector at St. Mary’s Church in Milford, and has served as an honorary board member for the Domestic Violence Services of Greater New Haven, and on the boards of director for the Milford-Orange YMCA and the Yankee District of the Boy Scouts of America.
Senator Smith, a partner in the Milford law firm of Dey, Smith and Collier, graduated cum laude from New York Law School in 1984. He also holds a Master of Laws degree from the New York University School of Law and a B.S. from the University of Arizona.
Senator Smith and his wife of 20 years, Deborah Franco Smith, live in Milford with their three teenage children, Catharine, Hannah and Winthrop III.
