He is very successful in business. He started Reitzel Heating and Sheet Metal Ltd. in 1962 with his brother and now runs it with the help of his three sons.
Lou and his wife Carole have ten children and seventeen grand-children.
Lou is a tireless community worker who has served as Treasurer and President of the Waterloo-Wellington chapter of the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute, President of the Grand Valley Construction Association, and President and Director of the Waterloo Region Family and Child Services.
He is also active in his church as Parish Treasurer of the Holy Name Society and Past President of the Parish Council.
