Former Mayor and Councilman, Aspen Colorado

Adam Frisch wrapped up 8 years of elected community service in the summer of 2019 representing his community as a City Councilman. From 2013-2016 he was Mayor Pro-Tem. Adam was the Vice-Chair and an elected representative on the Board of Trustees for CORE -- Community Office for Resource Efficiency, a nonprofit organization that promotes renewable energy, energy efficiency and green building in western Colorado and beyond. Adam was also a member of Colorado Association of Ski Towns (CAST). From 2005 until 2011, he chaired the Financial Advisory Board for Pitkin County. He is a 2006 graduate of Roaring Fork Leadership.

Since COVID, he has been a part-time substitute teacher for the local public elementary school. He strongly believes kids should be in school. Adam currently runs a residential design and build firm and has been involved in the home health care industry as well as the RV and Campground Park business. He has put his business on hold to focus on this election.

Adam was a long-term member – including President - of the Board of Directors, for Aspen Youth Experience, whose mission was to work with at-risk youth from the Roaring Fork Valley and 4 large inner-city communities around the nation, including Denver.

Before moving to the Western Slope of Colorado in 2002, Adam worked on one of the very first socially responsible investing products in the financial markets. He also was a senior executive in the commercial banking industry. He spent extensive time overseas, conducting business in more than 55 countries on six continents.
Adam was born in North Dakota and spent his first 5 years on the Ft. Peck Indian Reservation in Northeastern Montana, where his father served in the Public Health Service. He grew up in Minneapolis, attending one of the city’s most underserved inner-city elementary schools, where his mother helped diversify the Minneapolis public school system.

Adam received his undergraduate degree in economics, from CU-Boulder in 1990, where he was a leader in the student government.

Adam’s paternal Grandfather immigrated to the Iron Range mining community of Northern Minnesota where he started a grocery store with his brothers. His maternal Great-grandfather started what is now a 4th generation grain elevator, farming and ranching supply store, also in Northern Minnesota.

Adam’s wife, Katy, is the President of her family’s manufacturing business. She is also the current President of the elected Board of Education for the local school district. They have a 16-year-old son and a 14-year-old daughter. The family enjoys exploring rural Colorado in their camper trailer and discovering new outdoor adventures.
