| Info | Fred Harding has been a leader throughout his career life, including during his distinguished 30-plus years in the police service. He is passionate about making Vancouver safe, affordable and stable.
Fred was born in Manchester England and worked as a detective with the Metropolitan Police Service of London, from 1984 to 1997 before moving to Vancouver to raise his children.
Fred had a high-profile career as a member of the West Vancouver Police department and is the proud recipient of commendations from the Commissioner of the London Metropolitan Police, The Commissioner of the Canadian RCMP, and the Chief Constables. He is also the recipient of British Columbia’s highest award for valour.
During his policing career, Fred worked on many high-profile cases in both the UK and Canada, including the Robert Pickton case. During that investigation, Fred was greatly moved by the pain and sadness he witnessed firsthand among Vancouver’s most vulnerable. That experience continues to drive his passion for helping the city’s most vulnerable and making Vancouver safer.
Since his policing career ended Fred has been president and CEO of Harding Global Consultants Ltd (HGC), a Vancouver-based consulting company looking to bridge the business gap between North America and Asia. In this role, Fred has excelled in helping businesses grow and innovate.
