InfoWith both a History and Education degree, Tom has worked for nearly 30 years as a sports director, first at Champlain College and then at Bishop’s University. He was also a municipal councillor for 16 years.

However, he especially made his mark as Chair of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the 2013 Canada Summer Games. His hard work earned him praise from the public and from various organizations. In addition to numerous award nominations, he has received the Governor General’s Caring Canadian Award, Tourism Eastern Townships’ 2013 Person of the Year Award, La Tribune’s Mérite estrien and the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Society of the Diocese of Sherbrooke’s Prix Hommage et reconnaissance. He was also named Person of the Week by La Presse.

Involved in the community, Tom has participated in various charitable organizations. Among other things, he was the honorary president of a Héma-Québec blood drive for physical education instructors and of a Caritas Estrie “campagne du pain partagé [shared bread campaign].” For more than 2 years he has been the Vice-President of the Théâtre Granada Board of Directors. He has also been the President of Canadian Interuniversity Sport and Commissioner of the Quebec University Football League.
