| Info | Ravi Singh is Manager of Compliance at the Bank of Nova Scotia. His integrity in his work and strong understanding of community issues will allow him to be a valuable member of Mississauga Brampton-South.
Ravi grew up in a strong political environment within his family in India. This solid background has brought him to the level he is today. After completing his studies in Bachelor of Arts through Guru Nanak Dev University in India, he moved to Canada in 1988. Ravi started working at the Bank of Nova Scotia and is there since then.
He is a dedicated and genuine person who sincerely cares for his community. He has been involved as a volunteer in community affairs and has strong understanding of community issues, such as health care, education and transportation. Each Ontarian should have access to a family doctor and should be provided with timely, universal access to health care. Ravi wants to establish more programs which create a more skilled workforce through a greater emphasis on trades, vocational skills, training and apprenticeship. In addition, he wants to improve the policy on recognizing the credentials of foreign based professionals and allow them to overcome the challenges enabling them to work in their profession. Existing transportation systems must be improved by increased spending on roads, highways and in particular the public transit system. An enhanced public transit system is better for the environment.
Ravi strongly believes in accountability. There should be controls in place to ensure that money given by the taxpayer is being spent wisely and for the community good.
