Jerramy is from Missoula, Montana where he graduated from Hellgate High School and the University of Montana (GO GRIZ!). He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Forestry Resource Management with a minor in Anthropology. During college he worked as a Wildland Firefighter with the Missoula Ranger District to pay for tuition. After graduating he became a US Peace Corps Volunteer serving two years in Bulgaria working with Strandja Nature Preserve and the local youth.
Jerramy grew up with many hardships including living in poverty. This developed into a strong work ethic matched with determination and resiliency. He has always had a passion for public service and helping others. These qualities eventually led him to work in the nonprofit sector. Before that, Jerramy attended and successfully completed three different law enforcement academies, working his way up from Detention Officer with the City of Boulder, Colorado to Law Enforcement Park Ranger in Glacier National Park.
Relocating to the Flathead Valley fulltime, he was the founding Executive Director for Sparrow’s Nest of NW MT. This organization provides resources and housing for unaccompanied homeless high school students in the Valley. Currently he is a self-employed single dad working as a Community Consultant.
Jerramy is passionate about community, and has developed strong leadership skills through his commitment to volunteering in social services, and experience gained working in agriculture and public safety. Jerramy lives his Montana values – a strong work ethic, independence, neighborliness, and toughness in the face of adversity. His passion for community is expressed by his commitment to volunteering, particularly in the areas of social services and public safety. His work history has fostered strong leadership skills. Being a father has magnified his desire to pass Montana values on to future generations. This goal will be served by Jerramy’s willingness to work collaboratively, with mutual respect for all, while maintaining his core values.
Priorities: *Access to affordable and quality healthcare. Now is the time to fix the major gaps and issues of Medicaid, VA, Indian Health Services, Workman's Comp, Medicare. Too many fragmented components to the American Medical System which do not communicate/coordinate well. *Public lands, conservation, climate change, & sustainable energy. Time to get serious on sustaining alternative and renewable energy sources. Keep public lands public and utilizing tools of conservation to promote a healthy environment. *Ensuring tools for local governments to serve their respective communities with affordable housing. One of the basic necessities is a roof over you and your family's head. More than ever we need to ensure that our community can live, prosper, and thrive.
