The race was watched because of Philippot, whose candidacy was the best shot for "Les Patriotes". He won't make it to the second ballot.

In a runoff between National Rally and Ensemble, how would NUPES voters vote? Vote Ensemble to beat the far-right, vote RN to deny Ensemble a majority, or just abstain?

The most likely it that they'll abstain, a minority will vote blank or Ensemble, the RN vote is the least likely.

@ La Fayette can you explain why the diverse left has 4 candidates running? Won't that reduce their chance of making the runoff splitting their vote four ways?
