It won’t…maybe if she drops out. But even if appointed, she’d lose the primary.

This is the CBC supporting one of its own but not a game changer in any pressure campaign.

I'd say it is now in the realm of possibility especially after he just reneged on caretaker aspect of his appointment. Especially since his most recent vetoes souring him among the Dem Electorate, which hurts his chances for 2028 which he has been waiting for forever

I'm not saying its 100% gonna be Lee, but the odds are now stacking in her favor. Then the upcoming race gets a hell of a lot more interesting and/or a hell of a lot more boring

Wow. He threaded a very difficult needle on that one.

I thought he could be in political trouble among Democrats with his early promises. I'm sure some will be upset, but seems like he escaped what could have been a difficult political situation. With a qualified, interesting pick. Time will tell.

Newsom's political career is probably low key over.

And funnily enough it is all (partially) Feinstein's fault.

SHE told him to pick Alex Padilla to be Kamala's successor and then the appointment for her seat became a huge ****show for him.

All I am seeing is him being clowned on by everyone for this (Twitter Granted, but not just my area of Twitter, its seeped to normie dem twitter too).

All of this coulda been avoided with Lee/Bass (Or even Butler) getting Kamala's Seat

Well she is member of the LGBTQ+ community, person of color, and is a woman.

All the cards a Democrats needs none of the potential appointees have.

A state with 40 million residents and this seat goes to a Marylander.
