I can't for the life of me understand the reasoning for the idea that RCV in primaries is undemocratic...

Since the right likes to say the "Democrat Party" because their grammar is so horrible, do we call them the "Republic Party"?
|
|
|
I prefer to call them what they are: The Fascist Party.
|
|
|
Their current name already fits. They are the GOP.

In reference to the previous two posts, it'd be nice if the discourse level here could be kept above that of what one would naturally expect from 11-year-old girls.
Thank you for your attention to this matter!

This might be one of those unique races where we can include same-party general election endorsements (i.e. Dems for Mamdani). What are peoples' thoughts?

I can definitely see the argument. At the very least, if there are Democrats who endorsed Cuomo in the primary but are endorsing Mamdani in the general, I think it makes sense to list the Mamdani endorsement here so long as Cuomo is still in the race against him.
More generally, I think it might be worth waiting a little bit to see where the bulk of Democratic Party elected officials etc end up breaking. If it gets to August or September and they're still largely supporting Mamdani then it seems reasonable to follow normal site policy. But if there is a big split in the Democratic Party, then showing who is endorsing whom does seem reasonable to me

Zeus the Moose: so long as Cuomo is still in the race against him.
Didn't Cuomo drop out?
|
|
|
Cuomo is pulling a Joseph Crowley.
He's OFFICIALLY out of the race but too lazy to do paperwork to make it so.
|
|
|
RP: Didn't Cuomo drop out?
He didn't ask to remove his name from the ballot, and I think the deadline for such has either passed or will soon, so at this point I think it's unclear to what degree Cuomo has actually dropped out. That's one of the reasons why I think it makes sense to wait until August or September to give the whole situation some time to marinate.

What did his report cards from kindergarten look like, New York Times?
He's a communist, but got a "Needs Improvement" in sharing!

Also: turns out the guy who started the story....was a white supremacist who pulls the BS "Race and IQ" spiel.

Thank you for your attention to this matter! Sit on it and rotate. Your party just voted to deprive me of my medical care and the anti-depressants that I won't be able to afford to keep myself alive. I don't give a damn what you think.

The radicalization of the Good Old Doctor begins....
Its so infuriating that Republicans are allowed to petulant children all day (Probably so they can relate to their dates), but when the Left gives them not even half of what the GOP has done, its time to wag their fingers.
Hikkomori especially is the LAST guy to be complaining about having the discourse of an 11 year old.

I oppose Mamdani because I don't think NYC (and by extension, the USA) would benefit from a quasi-Bolshevist mayoralty. My opposition to his candidacy comes in spite of his essentially reasonable position on the issue of Palestine.

NYC's last "Quasi-Bolshevist" (Really Democratic Socialist) mayor is borderline universally regarded as the greatest mayor in not just NYC History, but also in American History.
Seems to me like that's the PERFECT model to use for running a City

Right-wingers present themselves as the last remaining bastions of sanity and common sense but will then say things like this.

In today's political climate Adams is the sensible moderate choice between Democrat and Republican since he has only been indicted but has not yet been convicted of crime

Is there any way to switch out logos? Cuomo has switched his logo since the primary

Just click choose file and it should replace, no?

Yeah but that takes a while to show up for some reason. IIRC it was explained it was a cache thing

I honestly don't understand this strategy.
The vast majority of Bernie Bros and progeressives are solid Mamdani blocs, and touting his work with Bernie might only alienate his target base ("better dead then red" voters, who could go to Adams or Silwa)

It's not clear what Jewish voters in NYC will do as yet, but it's safe to say the Jewish-American Establishment in NYC does not want Mamdani to prevail. Yet it looks likely he will. Assuming he does win, when was the last time a candidate that was strongly opposed by the city's Jewish-American Establishment, able to prevail in an NYC mayoral race?
I'm thinking it may have been more that a century at this point.

Does plurality win in the general or is it also ranked choice?

Interestingly, Mandami has a very slight negative favorability. Just that the others are worse. Maybe Jim Walden could be the relatively unknown dark horse.
