| Description | Center-left alliance and electoral list consisting of Bruno Tabacci's Christian-left Democratic Center (Centro Democratico; CD) and Luigi Di Maio's newly-formed (on June 21, 2022) Together for the Future (Insieme per il Futuro; IpF). Alliance was launched ahead of elections planned for September 25, 2022. Alliance chose the name on Tabacci's instigation to show support for Pope Francis' principle of "civic commitment" which he evoked on July 30, 2022. Alliance also takes the name of a short-lived socialist party active in Aosta Valley which dissolved itself in January 2019. Impegno Civico is also the name of an association in Bologna. Alliance may face litigation as a consequence, forcing a name change [Impegno Civico (IC)]. |
