DescriptionThe leader of the Liberal Democrats on Chorley council has accused Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg of "letting the party down".

As the council went to no overall control from a Conservative majority, Ken Ball said he had become so disillusioned he may quit the party.

He said: "Nick Clegg has let the party down, he's put us back 40 years.
