| Description | State Rep. Bryan Hughes, R-Mineola, formally withdrew his support for House Speaker Joe Straus, R-San Antonio, in a news release that alleges the speaker's leadership team intended to use redistricting to punish non-supporters.
Hughes, a typically cautious legislator when choosing words, said a weekend phone conversation with Straus' team "first saddened and then disgusted me."
