An epic political battle is brewing in Brooklyn.
City Councilman Simcha Felder, who was widely expected to run for city controller in 2009, surprised supporters Sunday by informing them he intends to run for the state Senate this fall instead.
Multiple sources confirmed Felder will mount a primary challenge to Sen. Kevin Parker, making the 21st Senate District contest a three-way fight and among the most hotly contested races in the city this year.
It's an unexpected twist in a bizarre race. |
