| Description | Regional Councils are the highest decision-making bodies of a region (aka, welfare region; hyvinvointialueet; välfärdsområden). The Council selects members of all regional government bodies and institutions in the area, and is responsible for their operation and finances. The Central Uusimaa Regional Council is responsible for the central parts of the Uusimaa region. These include the two cities within Central Uusimaa; Hyvinkää (Hyvinge), and Järvenpää (Träskända). Council has 69 councilors. The Council is led by a chairman, who is elected by majority vote of the Council. |
