| Description | The district is one of 11 created as a result of the 2007 District Reform in Saxony-Anhalt which passed on October 6, 2005, taking effect on July 1, 2007. Though the district remained unaffected and held itself intact and unchanged on July 1, 2007, by January 2010, 13 of 14 administrative communities were dissolved, and the number of municipalities decreased from 135 to 51. |
