| Description | Five justices with one being elected by the justices as chief justice and another as associate chief justice to serve for a term of four years.
Vacancies are filled by gubernatorial appointment from a list of names provided by a judicial nominating committee. The appointment is confirmed by the State Senate. The justice faces a retention vote at the first general election after the third year after appointment. Subsequent terms are 10 years in length with retention elections at the end of the term.
Mandatory retirement age is 75.
