The Region is known for holding Albania's largest city and the nation's capital, Tirana, which was founded and settled by the Ottoman Turks in 1614. The Region contains five municipalities; Kamëz, Kavajë, Rrogozhinë, Tiranë, and Vorë. The center of the Region is located in the city of Tirana. |
