This is a newly named riding, though it keeps most of the character of the old riding of Mégantic–Compton. It's situated mostly in the Eastern Townships region east of Montreal and south of Quebec City, just a bit east of Liberal Leader Jean Charest's home riding of Sherbrooke. The riding's southern edge touches the U.S. border.
