Description | The Prime Minister of Tibet, who was first only appointed to the Dalai Lama, has become a more important figure in Tibet's political life. In 2000, the Dalai Lama increased the legitimacy of the Prime Minister of Tibet, by making sure he woukd be elected by the Tibetan Diaspora. The Dalai Lama had decided to give up most of his executive power to the Prime Minister, also called Kalon Tripa of Tibet, in 2010. The kalon Tripa can not serve more than two terms. |
