The Mayor and Trustees are responsible for creating policy and direction for the Village. This includes functions such as passing resolutions and ordinances, approving the expenditure of money, levying taxes, approving subdivisions, zoning, and other land use regulations, and other issues that affect the community
The Village of Itasca is governed by a Village President (usually referred to as Mayor) and a 6-member Board of Trustees. The Trustees, Mayor, and Village Clerk are elected to staggered four-year terms. The Mayor and members of the Village Board appoint a professional Village Administrator to manage the day-to-day operations of the Village.
The Village Board meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at Village Hall, 550 W. Irving Park Road. All public meeting agendas are posted at least 48 hours in advance of the date and time the meeting is scheduled to take place.
