| Info | Jef Foulger was born in Stockwell, South London and has lived in Beckenham since he was 13. He went to Colfe's Grammar School and Langley Park Boys School. Jef married his wife Julia at a very young age; they have three children and two grandchildren.
Jef started work as a journalist in Fleet Street but gravitated to the financial sector and is now a senior pensions consultant for BDO Stoy Hayward Investment Management, based in Bromley. He is a member of the Personal Finance Society and an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute. Being interested in lifelong learning Jef has trained part-time as further education lecturer to be able to teach other finance professionals. He is also Chair of Governors of Bromley’s newest primary school.
Jef joined the Liberal Democrat Party in 2001 and was a candidate for Bromley Council in the 2002 local elections. In 2003/4 he served on the Federal Party’s Pension Policy Working Group and is at present an executive committee member of the Liberal Democrat Christian Forum. He was selected to fight his home constituency of Beckenham in 2004.
