InfoMichael A. Monroe, a DC Native, was born and raised in Northwest Washington. He graduated from Blessed Sacrament and Gonzaga College High School before earning his BA in Electronic Journalism from James Madison University. Monroe is a third generation Washingtonian and strong advocate of achieving representation in Congress for our citizens and providing safety, education, and opportunity to all of our residents.

Monroe was appointed Marketing Director for Washington DC's Chef Geoff's restaurants in 2003 after serving as a waiter and attracting a multitude of new business. Actively involving the community, he has created several events to bring people together, including a happy hour for people and their dogs, with a percentage of proceeds going directly to the Washington Humane Society. Monroe has worked on WHS's Bark Ball as a logistics manager since 2003. Stemming from contract work with various television stations and production companies, he founded Mikemon International, a small communications company that specializes in television productions and event management. As a background extra, he has appeared in Head of State, Wedding Crashers, Syriana, and The Service. In 2000, Monroe served as a Youth Ambassador to Britain through the British Tourist Authority and actively promoted overseas work, travel and study on American campuses along the east coast.

Politically, Monroe served as campaign manager to Eric Rojo's Ward 3 City Council race in 2002 in addition to running for his own local ANC seat. He serves on the DC Republican Committee and was Transportation Director and an Alternate Delegate to the 2004 Convention in New York. In 2000, Monroe was the Delegation Aide to the Convention in Philadelphia.
