| Info | As a life-long resident and a graduate of Kentridge High School, Kent City Councilmember Satwinder Kaur (pronounced Seth-win-der Core) calls Kent home, where she lives with her husband, middle-school-aged son and baby-to-be.
In addition to associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees and certifications in Six Sigma and Lean Management, Satwinder has served as an intern in the Mayor’s Office and feels she has a good understanding of resident issues and concerns. She also likes listening to residents and business owners, and wants to learn from them and other community leaders.
Among her favorite things in Kent are hiking at Clark Lake Park, trying cuisine from different countries, participating in the Adopt-a-Street program with the Sikh community, witnessing volunteer contributions from different people and organizations, helping others, and seeing that different places of worship in Kent are open to supporting all human beings.
When she isn’t working, volunteering or serving on Council, Satwinder enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, being in the mountains, painting and making jewelry.
