| Info | In 1988, Bob Anthony became the first Republican elected to the Oklahoma Corporation Commission in 60 years, receiving more votes than any other Republican in a state-wide election since statehood.
In 1994, Anthony became the first Republican incumbent in Oklahoma history to win statewide reelection to a state office, and he now has served continuously as a state official longer than any other Republican elected on a statewide basis.
In 1995, the FBI recognized Anthony with its highest award given to "a citizen who, at great personal sacrifice, has unselfishly served his community and the nation."
In November 2000, Bob Anthony was reelected to the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, receiving more votes than any Democrat or Republican running for state office in Oklahoma history.
Bob Anthony holds a B.S. degree from the Wharton School of Finance, an M.Sc. from the London School of Economics, an M.A. from Yale University, and an M.P.A. from Harvard University. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve where he earned the rank of captain. From 1979 to 1980 he served on the City Council of Oklahoma City.
From 1980 to 1987 Bob Anthony served as president of the C. R. Anthony Company which was then the largest privately owned company headquartered in Oklahoma.
Anthony has served as chairman of the trust committee of the largest bank trust company in Oklahoma, has been president of the Economic Club of Oklahoma, and has served as board chairman of the Crown Heights United Methodist Church.
All four of Anthony�s grandparents came to Oklahoma before statehood. He and his wife Nancy were married in 1975 and have four daughters: Elizabeth, Christine, Suzanne, and Katherine.
