WILLIAM N. (BILL) ASWAD of Burlington, Chittenden County, Democrat,
was born in Binghamton, New York, and became a resident of present
town in September, 1951. Occupation: retired Manager of manufacturing
engineering. He was educated in elementary and secondary schools in
Binghamton, New York. Graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Chemical
Engineering from Clarkson University, Potsdam, New York, with graduate
work at Union College in Schenectady, New York. He has four adult children.
Member of: Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission, Past
President of: New England Association of Regional Councils, Burlington
City Council, Sara Holbrook Center, Vermont Achievement Center United
Cerebral Palsy of Vermont, Vermont Association of Planning and Development
Agencies; The New England Association of Regional Councils; Board
member: National Association of Regional Councils, The Vermont Health
Foundation, Leadership Champlain, Burlington College, Trustee, Vermont
State Colleges. He served in World War II and retired as a Major in the
Corps of Engineers and is a registered Professional Engineer. Member of the
House: 1995-96, 1997-98, 1999-2000, 2001-2002, 2003-2004, 2005-2006,
