Info | Allen Griffith was born November 19, 1944 in West Chester, PA. He grew up in the small community of Paoli. He, along with his older siblings, was raised by a single mom. He stocked shelves at a 5&10 cent store and delivered newspapers and telegrams as a boy, while his mother worked as a telephone operator to provide for the family. At age 16 he became a volunteer fireman and ambulance attendant at Paoli Fire Company.
He married his wife Patricia on August 21, 1965. The Griffiths have 5 married children and 18 grandchildren. The Griffiths first moved to Lebanon County in 1996 and now reside in Myerstown.
At age 22, Griffith was called as pastor to a newly begun church in West Chester. When he resigned in 1993 the church of 30 had grown to a constituency of over 1,000. Griffith founded West Chester Christian School and Bible Baptist School of Theology. The total ministry budget when Griffith resigned was about one and one half million dollars. The staff included 29 full time employees and 5 part time. There was a 50,000 sq. ft facility on a 13 acre complex. Its worth approximated 5 million dollars and the church was within 3 months of being debt free. For 15 years Griffith hosted the Higher Ground Radio Broadcast and for about the same amount of time wrote a weekly newspaper article.
In 1993, Allen left the church to found the non profit organization, Biblical Family Ministries Inc. As director of BFM, he travels across the USA and the Maritime Provinces of Canada to speak on Family and Family related issues. He has written three books addressing prayer, parenting and how to face problems, all from a Christian perspective. He has had opportunity to travel to the Far East, including Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore and the Philippines. He has been to the Middle East on 9 occasions, including Israel, Lebanon and Jordan. He has also been to Europe including Greece and Germany.
