Info | Cisco Cotto has spent his life slowly easing his workload. At 11 years old he hauled newspapers around his Aurora neighborhood. At age 14 he gave up newspapers to work at McDonald's. He didn't have to carry a weighty newspaper bag, but did have to lift cases of fries and the smell of hamburger grease still haunts him. When it was time for college at Western Illinois University he figured out a good way to get the heavy lifting out of his life for good. Radio.
While in college he got his first radio job at WBYS-AM/FM Canton, Illinois. He also worked at WIUM-FM in Macomb. It's an NPR station, but please don't hold that against him. After college he was hired as a reporter at WMAQ-AM. From there he spent 7 years as a news reporter and anchor at WLS-AM.
His work has been honored with various awards from the Associated Press, Illinois Broadcasters Association, the Radio and Television News Directors Association, and International Association of Firefighters.
Cisco is sometimes called "The Reverend" because he is working on a Master of Divinity degree at Moody Bible Institute. He married Anna in May 2004. They live in Oak Park.
