BrentinCO: First consider the source of the article and how they are interpreting the bigger picture of what he is sharing. Not quite objective and clearly meant to evoke a reaction...

I'm not back, I have lurked and I couldn't resist responding. Don't expect me to log back in for another few months or years...

I wish I had your flexibility; my body could use it after workouts. Your ability to stretch to get to a "reasonable" sounding conclusion based on proposals from Trump/Musk types who have proven time and time again that they have no idea what they're talking about, no ideological basis other than hate and ignorance for their "proposals," no understanding of how governments operate and affect people, and no demonstrable intellectual curiosity when it comes to policy formation or implementation is astounding. You really think Musk is looking at Argentina or Thatcher when he's trolling for validation on Twitter? You really think Twitter is doing well and others are trying to implement him despite Twitter's plummet in value? You think any recent examples of austerity have helped anywhere? Oh please!

Despite you changing party affiliations (at least on the site), you still really, really want to find some ideologically conservative underpinning to the Trump project when there isn't one. But hey, good for you, buddy. I'm glad these leaps work for you and your decision making process.

It’s more peaceful to block some users on occasion. Even if just temporarily.

RBH: If we had only realized that Republican pseudo-moderates were due to fold eventually then we could put this entire saga on one race.

We realized it. They just needed an acceptable face of election denialism and right wing extremism.

What is Donald's appeal? Been in the House since 2020 and thinks he can run it? Hardly the most compelling communicator. What am I missing?

RP: Maybe even before the government shutdown on November 17.

If we keep this up, everyone in the conference will have a run by the end of next week. Then they just start over, I guess?

GOP, just throw in the towel, you're not a serious party anymore. Take a few rebuilding decades and get rid of the...racists, fascists, officeholders with personality disorders, etc.

And no, I'm not calling anyone I disagree with a racist.

And the filibuster is gone the second she's out. Gurl bye. I had high hopes for her a decade ago.

If they move fast enough, they can eliminate/embarrass their entire leadership and all their chairmen before Thanksgiving.

Campari_007: Are we doing this again? Good god. What an unserious political party.

Sure, but at least they're not the radical commie Dems!

BrentinCO: A vote my simple majority isn't working. Hope someone suggests they raise the "winner" margin.

Someone tried but the conference rejected it.

BrentinCO: If you are a conservative who opposed McCarthy and McHenry becomes acting Speaker or empowered as Speaker - than nothing was accomplished in removing McCarthy. In fact, if Democrats are the ones that give McHenry the votes for victory, all that was accomplished is giving a McCarthy ally and someone who is beholden to Democrats the leadership of the House of Representatives.

The folk who did this don't care. It's just another fundraising email and a new tweet they can post for attention to fill that empty void where their soul or parents' love should be.

BrentinCO: There is not a governable GOP majority. I suspect we will have a Speaker, but more in a caretaker role. Someone that is Republican with support of enough Democrats.

I hope so, but I don't see the handful of GOP members doing that anytime soon. Maybe by next spring...

The upside of a Jim Jordan is that he was so ineffective on Oversight and as Judiciary chair that GOP messaging will continue to be crap.

It won’t…maybe if she drops out. But even if appointed, she’d lose the primary.

This is the CBC supporting one of its own but not a game changer in any pressure campaign.
