J.W. Morrow Jr., a Republican, is a candidate for the 38th District, which includes portions of Cobb and Fulton County. Morrow has been a teacher/coach for the past 18 years. He has taught in Atlanta Public Schools and currently teaches in Clayton County Public Schools. Subjects that Coach Morrow has taught include History, Economics, Political Science, Geography, Behavior Science, Physical Education and Health. He also serves as Regional Academic Recruiter for the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff for the state of Georgia.
Candidate Morrow has long been an active member of his community. His affiliations include President of the Brandemere Homeowner Association, Volunteer Basketball Coach at South Cobb Recreational Center, Member of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Metropolitan Atlanta Alumni Chapter, and a Member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated.
Candidate Morrow earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in History with a minor in Physical Education/Health from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. While attending the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, Morrow was a member of the Golden Lion Basketball and Track teams, in addition to being awarded the Student Government Association Academic Athlete of the year award three years in a row. Morrow also graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a Masters of Secondary Education with an emphasis on Social Sciences. Candidate Morrow attends Word of Faith Family Worship Cathedral in Austell, Georgia.
