While largely non-ideological, the SDA is best described as a conservative party. They support both Scottish independence and withdrawal from the European Union. Much like their predecessor party, the Scottish Enterprise Party, they seek to represent right-leaning independence voters who are otherwise disinclined to support the centre-left Scottish National Party.
