Conservative, Christian-democratic party founded by anti-Rafael Trujillo exiles that included Joaquín Balaguer, who succeeded President Juan Bosch three years after the September 25, 1963 Dominican coup d'etat. Party began as the Reformist Party (PR) founded in 1963, changing its name to the Social Christian Reformist Party after it merged with the Revolutionary Social Christian Party in 1984. Party's primacy collapsed after the election of 1996 and it currently ranks as the nation's fifth largest. Party is led by Quique Antún [Partido Reformista Social Cristiano (PRSC)].
