Description | Center-right opposition party founded by Kagame critic Bernard Ntaganda after he left the Social Democratic Party in protest over its accommodationist policies. The Rwandan government subsequently targeted the new party and arrested its leaders in 2010, using the excuse of "illegal assembly and demonstrations." Ntaganda served four years in prison and was released in June 2014 upon protests from human rights groups. Party managed to win 2 seats after legislative elections held in 2018 [Parti social imberakuri (PSI); imberakuri means "supporter of truth"]. |
