DescriptionNader says US needs standard for third-party ballot access
Columbus Ledger-Enquirer

Presidential hopeful Ralph Nader said American politics needs a federal standard for third-party ballot access. "There should be one federal standard for getting on the ballot, not 51," Nader said.

The independent presidential candidate has been appearing before college crowds trying to get signatures to have his name appear on ballots in every state in the 2004 election. He will need to have the signatures of 39,000 registered voters in Georgia to get a spot on the ballot. During the 2000 presidential race, when he ran as a Green Party candidate, Nader was on the ballot in 43 states. Georgias ballot was one of the seven where his name did not appear.
