Description | Tom Henry is running for his fifth term as mayor against City Councilman Tom Didier, R-3rd, who beat Henry for that council seat 20 years ago.
In the 2003 election, Democrat Henry was running for a sixth term in the north-side 3rd District seat. Didier ran as a Republican against Henry and won, ending Henry’s 20-year council tenure.
Henry said the city was redistricted after the 2000 census. This led to 3rd District gaining more Republican areas and losing Democratic areas, according to Henry.
Didier said he beat Henry because the constituents wanted someone who listened more to what they wanted. |
