Description

Hello. I thought I’d provide a list of the competitive primaries in Colorado on primary day in just over one week (links in article body below). I’ve added my final analysis and picks in the comments of each race. This list includes the statewide constitutional offices, Congressional primaries, State Senate, and State House.

As of today, just over 225,000 mail-in votes have been returned to the Secretary of State. That’s about 1/3 of the turn-out of the 2014 elections with about 1 week to go before election day. Linked to this article is the press release archive of the Colorado Secretary of State. Up until election day the Secretary of State will be providing an update on the number of returned ballots.

It looks like to be a good turn-out for both Democrats and Republicans. This year unaffiliated voters can vote in either primary (not both). Ballots for the Democratic and Republican primaries were mailed to all unaffiliated voters. This could have an unexpected impact on some race outcomes.
