Description | Justice Michael Gableman is expected to announce as early as Thursday that he won't seek a second term.
Gableman also may not serve the remainder of his current term, which expires next spring, according to a source with knowledge of Gableman's plans but not authorized to speak for the justice.
That potential vacancy on the court would allow Gov. Scott Walker to make his third appointment to the Supreme Court since 2015. If Gableman does finish his term, the 2018 race to replace him would be the first open competition in a decade. |
