Description | Republican state House candidate Ray Nearhood remains in a coma because of a car crash last month, but his friends are keeping his campaign going as they wait for him to recover.
"We have a website; we've done some phone-calling. He's got a Facebook page. It's mostly social media," said Kenneth Anderson Sr., a friend of Mr. Nearhood and chairman of his campaign committee. "It's difficult to campaign without a candidate. We're trying to keep the campaign (going) and hoping that he'll recover enough to start campaigning for himself and certainly to take office when the election is over."
Mr. Nearhood, 61, of 409 Cherry St., Scranton, was critically injured Aug. 13 when his Toyota Camry collided with a Cadillac heading the opposite direction on the Gov. Robert P. Casey Highway. |
