Dan Maffei to Challenge Ann Marie Buerkle for CNY Congressional Seat

| Description | In 2010, Dan Maffei lost his Congressional seat to Republican Ann Marie Buerkle by 648 votes. Now, Maffei says he wants that seat back. In an email to supporters sent early Wednesday morning (full text below), Maffei ended speculation by saying that he will challenge Buerkle in 2012 for New York's 25th District Congressional seat.
This will be the fourth time Maffei has run for the seat. In 2006, Maffei lost to former Congressman James Walsh. Following Walsh's retirement in 2008, Maffei defeated Dale Sweetland. He then lost to Buerkle last year, in one of the closest House races in the nation.
