Description | Last week's announcement that the Palm Springs International Airport's new tower is finally fully funded through $14 million in stimulus monies caused an immediate stir on the political front.
Within two hours of Rep. Mary Bono Mack's Wednesday release, the campaign manager for her Democratic challenger, Palm Springs Mayor Steve Pougnet, was blasting the Republican congresswoman for touting a project after voting against the federal stimulus bill.
The story on mydesert.com almost immediately caught the attention of officials at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
And local Democratic clubs were circulating a “take action” e-mail urging members to post comments on the newspaper's Web site and send letters to the editor to blast Bono Mack for “hypocrisy.” |
